SENS broadly interested in the ecology and behaviour of coral reef fish. This is mainly focused on the relationships between fish and living coral habitats, the degree of dependency and the implications of habitat degradation on fish communities. SENS interested in the patterns and processes of habitat specialisation, grouping behaviour, and movement. SENS use a variety of aquarium and in-situ experiments to investigate the interaction of habitat and social preferences on reef fish distributions. Site fidelity and homing behaviour can reflect high levels of habitat dependency and limit population connectivity.
